Job Description
General Summary of Duties: This position is responsible for Pulmonary Function Test
(PFT) Tech duties at Respiratory & Sleep Disorder Specialists.
PFT Tech Essential Functions:
- Perform Pulmonary Function and Spirometry Testing
- Calibrate PFT machine daily
- Confirm appointments for two days out and reiterate PFT prep
- Clean and sanitize body box daily and notify PFT lead when supplies are needed
- Coordinate with PFT lead when troubleshooting any issues with the machine
- Perform 6-minute walks as needed
- File scans and faxes as needed
- Float to other locations as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program with active RMA, CMA, or
- NCMA certification is preferred
- Minimum 2-year experience in a physician practice or outpatient clinic setting
- Knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
