The Wickman Screw Machine Operator will be responsible for ensuring the efficient production of machined components while maintaining precise records, managing equipment and supplies, and upholding quality assurance protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and orthographic drawings to plan machining tasks.
- Monitor and maintain stock inventory by assessing available materials, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying stock receipts.
- Load feed mechanisms with stock materials.
- Confirm settings by measuring positions and inspecting first-run parts to meet quality standards.
- Uphold specifications by observing various machining operations, detecting malfunctions, and troubleshooting processes.
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to ensure a secure working environment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and respond to malfunctions as necessary.
- Document production and quality logs to maintain continuity among shifts.
- Engage in ongoing education to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Show initiative by pursuing opportunities to add value and accomplish new requests.
- Strong conceptual and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in process improvement and technical functions.
- Effective verbal communication abilities.
- Familiarity with controls and instrumentation, supply management, tooling coordination, and inventory control.

- A minimum of 3-5 years of recent experience operating Wickman screw machines.
- Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
