Center Pivot Irrigation Manager

Job Overview
Pro-Ag Organic Farms, located near Wray and Holyoke, CO is hiring a dependable, forward thinking, self-motivated Irrigation Manager to contribute to the success of our farm. Pro-Ag is a center pivot irrigated organic specialty crop farm in northeastern Colorado and southwestern Nebraska. We’ve grown our organization significantly the past several years and are continuing our growth in acres, people, and scope. We pride ourselves on establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with customers, vendors, and custom operators. We have a leadership style that is always focused on continuous improvement and building a team of problem-solvers.

An ideal candidate will have center pivot irrigation and production experience along with management experience. The Irrigation Manager would be responsible for the following:

• The irrigation of Pro-Ag's crops to maximize yield and minimize crop stress subject to legal water restrictions
• The training and development of irrigation team including teaching Pro-Ag's irrigation philosophy, scheduling direct reports' time, and developing an offseason work schedule that is productive and proactive
• Provide timely and accurate reporting by reporting weekly to the agronomy team as well as being prepared to interface with landlords when appropriate
• Oversee pivot repair and maintenance as well as develop a repair budget, order parts, and do maintenance scheduling
• Other farm duties as necessary

Qualifications:

• Center Pivot irrigation experience (especially in corn and alfalfa)
• Management experience
• Valid US Driver's license
• Ability to work independently and prioritize the workload
• Ability to work outdoors and longer hours during peak seasons
• Spanish speaking skills a plus but not required
