Job Summary :

We are looking to hire a hands-on Purchasing Manager for a privately held family-owned business in Alpharetta, GA. The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, tracking metrics to reduce expenses, negotiating deals, and managing vendors. Position ensures clear requirements, forecast market trends, mitigate risks, and collaborate with stakeholders. In addition, this position is responsible for the health and safety processes within the organization.

Job Responsibilities :

In collaboration with the COO, create and execute purchasing strategies.

Create and execute programs and processes that drive efficiency within the purchasing department.

Reviews and processes purchase orders.

Oversees records of goods / products ordered and received.

Research, select and negotiate prices and contracts with suppliers.

Monitor vendor compliance.

Build and maintain relationships with vendors.

Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders.

Coordinate with fellow managers and sales representatives to monitor inventory and determine supply needs.

Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise.

Keeps up with trends in procurement.

Stays current with purchasing technology trends and oversees purchase and implementation, as necessary.

Manage and train all procurement employees.

Promote positive employee relations and communications within the workgroup.

Create, execute, and oversee all health and safety procedures within the organization.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Create training and communications programs that promote health and safety within the organization.

Oversee all health and safety vendors.

Collaborate with other managers and employees within the organization.

Job Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or other relevant field.

5 plus years of experience in purchasing management.

Experience managing employees.

Experience using procurement software and databases.

Excellent organizational skills.

Effective internal personal and communication skills.

Excellent negotiation skills.

Research and analytical skills.

Attention to detail.

Knowledge of health and safety processes helpful, but not required.

Ability to pass criminal and drug test screening.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work is performed indoors in an office setting sitting in front of a computer 80% of the time. Must be able to lift to 10 lbs., push and pull up to 10 lbs., lift, stand and carry consistently, have proper hearing, vision, and speech capabilities.
