Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Basketball Skill Development Coach to lead, instruct, and develop our academy members during evening sessions at our facility. Using our specific curriculum, we teach basketball fundamentals to athletes from Kindergarten to High School. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching both basketball and life skills, and must confidently and effectively implement our curriculum and mission. This will require an investment of time to learn our development techniques.
To succeed with us, you must be open and receptive to giving and receiving feedback from both peers and ownership. The Skill Development Coach must be able to communicate with staff on weekly scheduling, curriculum focuses, upcoming events, and membership conversations. Additionally, the coach should be able to evaluate an athlete's skill level and work ethic, adjusting drills to appropriately challenge them and recommending the right program to help them reach their goals.
You will be required to uphold a high standard of professionalism and a positive attitude through your appearance, delivery, and interactions with athletes and their families. This is a part-time position, averaging 15 to 25 hours per week, generally during weekday evenings between 3:30 pm and 8:30 pm, with occasional weekend hours.

Responsibilities
The Skill Development Coach will handle general tasks related to the day-to-day operations of the business, including:
- Maintaining excellent relationships with members
- Communicating with families to schedule private training sessions
- Parent/Athlete/Staff Communication/Education:
- Communicate any new program changes and upcoming events to parents
- Communicate with athletes before and after each session during huddles and court chats explaining the why and character focus
- Communicate with manager and Lead Coach before each class to review curriculum/stations for Skills and Drills
- Educate parents on the benefits of training and knowledge of all programming
- Assist in selling private training packages
- Prospective and Existing Member On-Court Skills Assessments
- Attend weekly coaches meetings
- Perform general office tasks
- Complete assigned projects

Qualifications
- Experience in sports coaching, teaching, operations, and/or management
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Basketball experience (playing and/or coaching)
- Ability to engage and motivate athletes in a sports environment
