The Accounting / Human Resources Specialist is responsible for the daily accounting functions associated with accounts receivable and accounts payable, providing service to customers, vendors, and visitors, addressing issues as they arise by new and existing employees, and coordinating other HR-related functions as required.
General Responsibilities:
- Must be reliable, cooperative, with high attention to detail, and work well independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
- Attend to the front desk, answering phones, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and greeting visitors.
- Track petty cash, account for receipts, and provide reconciliation to accountant.
- Prepare payroll and related information.
- Daily deposit checks, process customer payments.
- Enter accounts payable invoices, select invoices for weekly payment and prepare checks or ACH payments.
- Assist in documenting information for new hires and terminations, including involvement in new hire orientation and the processing of paperwork.
- Process new employee benefits enrollments.
- Communicate with leads and supervisors regarding employee benefits, assist with handling any concerns or issues, act as liaison between employees and management.
- Monitor work assignments and communicates any concerns with supervisor.
- Create, participate in and further develop internal programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years related hands-on experience (preferably in manufacturing)
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy entering financial information
- Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, and advanced Excel)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Desire for continuous improvement and a willingness to identify creative solutions to solve an issues
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate integrity, dedication, a positive work attitude and strong work ethic

Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in business-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The employee is regularly required to speak, hear, and sit for extended periods of time. Frequently the employees is required to use their hands and fingers to handle or feel, as well as, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally the employee is required to stand and walk, lift or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include near, far, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
