The Chief Financial Executive will be a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing all financial operations at SMAA. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will work closely with the leadership team and the Board of Directors to create and implement strategic initiatives throughout the organization. This leader will optimize the financial and administrative frameworks essential for navigating a dynamic, results-driven organization poised for significant growth over the next 3 to 5 years.
The CFO will guarantee that effective systems and procedures are in place for seamless program implementation and successful audits. Managing a team of three, the CFO will have authority over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and grants management.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
- Analyze, prepare, and present accurate financial reports in a timely fashion; communicate monthly and annual financial statements clearly; oversee all financial, project / program, and grants accounting.
- Lead the annual budgeting and planning process in collaboration with the leadership team.
- Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain internal controls and safeguards for revenue receipt, cost management, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Coordinate audits and ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all financial functions.
Business Planning
Manage and monitor the performance of invested assets according to established policies and investment guidelines.
Leadership & Communication
Administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor ongoing progress and changes, ensuring senior leadership is informed of the organization's financial health.
Engage the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors to devise long-term financial strategies and projections.
Grants Management
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time-management skills, paired with :
Experience in auditing coordination, reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger management, payroll, and investment accounting is essential.
Exhibit a high level of integrity in handling confidential and sensitive information.
