Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Operational Excellence (OPEX) Engineer to lead, drive, and support corporate-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing team member safety, product quality, operational efficiency, and overall customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in LEAN Six Sigma methodologies, with a preference for experience with Toyota Production Systems (TPS). This role requires a proven leader who can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully plan and execute continuous improvement events and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Execution:
• Develop and implement corporate operational excellence strategies that drive safety, productivity, cost savings, and overall business performance.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify, assess, and prioritize process inefficiencies across various departments; design and implement solutions using Toyota Production Systems (TPS) and LEAN Six Sigma continuous improvement methodologies.
• Process Analysis:
• Conduct thorough analysis of current processes, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to streamline operations. Understand basic concepts of process design to clearly define responsibilities, connections, inputs/outputs, and how to perform the process.
• Leadership & Mentoring:
• Lead cross-functional teams on improvement projects, providing coaching and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members in continuous improvement principles.
• Training & Development:
• Conduct training sessions and workshops on TPS culture and LEAN Six Sigma process improvement tools and techniques to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
• Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Utilize data and analytics to monitor progress, measure the impact of improvement initiatives, and drive decision-making. Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation capital projects aimed at improving safety, quality, and delivery.
• Performance Monitoring:
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards to track and report on the effectiveness of operational excellence initiatives.
• Best Practices & Standardization:
• Establish and disseminate best practices across the organization, standardizing processes where possible and ensuring adherence to operational excellence principles.
• Change Management:
• Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes and foster a continuous improvement culture. Provide active support to develop and maintain key process documentation to translate tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
• Collaborate with department heads, managers, and senior executives to ensure alignment of operational excellence initiatives with strategic objectives.
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferably mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering). A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Preferred Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP is a plus) and Shop Floor Control systems (MES preferred).
• Experience:
• Proven experience in leading operational excellence initiatives within an organization.
• Strong understanding of LEAN Six Sigma methodologies with experience in Toyota Production Systems (TPS) preferred.
