Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Desktop Support Engineer will collaborate with the team to establish technical standards for Windows workstations, identify areas for improvement, and ensure optimal system performance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze, migrate, and implement Windows computer applications, systems, and network configurations. They will also be proficient in designing, documenting, and scripting complex software deployments, while providing solutions to meet business technology needs.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Configure and implement Autopilot.
- Administer Tanium, SCCM, and manage Deploy, Comply, and Provision functions.
- Create and manage endpoint boundary groups across distribution points.
- Monitor site health using SSRS, log files, and the SCCM console.
- Perform in-console upgrades and client agent updates.
- Manage user and device collections using query-based collections.
- Route and escalate technical issues to the appropriate support areas and collaborate with technicians to resolve root causes.
- Provide IT and business project support.
- Oversee all systems owned by the Desktop Support Engineering team.
- Act as an escalation point for technical issues and provide system analysis in consultation with users.
- Manage testing activities for workstations, laptops, VMs, and other enterprise systems for patching and vulnerabilities.
- Monitor the desktop services engineering queue to ensure 100% satisfaction and meet SLAs.
- Oversee configuration of Windows Configuration Power Management Rules.
- Deploy operating system images (primarily Windows 10) via SCCM OSD.
- Configure WDS, PXE, VM build environment, and integrate with MDT and Tanium.
- Build, capture, and update Windows 10 and 11 images.
- Create and manage distribution points and deployment task sequences.
- Provide high-level troubleshooting across systems and environments.
- 3 years of experience scripting in PowerShell.
- Proficient in troubleshooting Windows Desktop OS.
- Experience with SCCM and/or Tanium administration.
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting; Python and/or other programming languages are a plus.
- JAMF Pro administration experience is a plus.
- High-level troubleshooting of macOS is a plus.
- A Certification, Security , and Network certifications preferred.
- JAMF 100, 200, 300, 400 certifications are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and practices.
