Virtual Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students in California
VocoVision is seeking a licensed Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for a remote, part-time opportunity with a California school district. This flexible, as-needed position involves offering tailored instruction to students with hearing impairments, ensuring they have equal access to education in a virtual learning environment.
Position Overview
Employment Type : Independent Contractor (1099)
Location : Fully Remote (Must be licensed in California)
Caseload : Approximately 10 students across multiple schools
Schedule : Part-time, as needed
Duration : 2024-2025 School Year
Responsibilities
Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility for students with varying levels of hearing loss
Utilize virtual platforms and assistive technology to enhance student engagement
Collaborate with teachers, interpreters, and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
Monitor student progress and develop individualized strategies to support academic success
Qualifications
Licensure : Active California Deaf and Hard of Hearing teaching credential
Education : Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Deaf Education or a related field
Experience : Prior experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
Technology Skills : Proficiency in virtual teaching platforms and assistive communication tools
Personal Attributes : Patient, adaptable, and skilled in fostering an inclusive and engaging virtual classroom
