Job Summary:
The Environmental Health, and Safety Specialist will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
· Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
- Ensures that safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.
- Safety programs: Leading programs to protect people, the environment, and the workplace from hazards
- Emergency response: Developing and leading emergency response procedures to ensure employees are prepared to respond effectively
- Compliance audits: Overseeing health and safety protocols to ensure regulatory compliance
- Incident investigation: Analyzing unplanned events that negatively affect task completion
- Continuous improvement: Learning from incidents to lead the way to a safer workplace
- Enforcing safety regulations: Ensuring the workplace meets all environmental regulations
- Hazard identification and assessment: Assessing the risks and hazards found during the identification process
- Regulatory liaison: Serving as the primary point of contact for government agencies during EHS inspections and audits
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required
- Five years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
