Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in providing program and project management for design and construction, project controls, commissioning, construction-related technology, and facilities management, seeks a Quality Assurance Technician to work on a federal project supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Architect of the Capitol. This is a night shift, onsite inspection position and is expected to work hours between 7pm and 7am. The QA Technician, under the direction of the Construction Manager, monitors critical installation of specified construction components and will be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities
- Perform and log all quality checks as required or requested by the client
- Maintain Daily QA/Production report in a timely fashion
- Ensure workforce compliance with OSHA
- Verify only approved products are onsite
- Communicate all non-compliant issues to shift leadership
- Verify approved materials are installed
- Effectively communicate with operations and management to drive compliance to quality standards and continuous improvement
- Assist in inspections and surveys
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) is required
- Bachelors degree strongly preferred
- An understanding of construction drawings is strongly preferred
- Experience working on federal AEC contracts is preferred
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with clean background check – Must be able to obtain a badge for the Architect of the Capitol (AOC)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs climb scaffolding, and climb ladders. Thus, the employee must be able to climb scaffolding and ladders to observe work or execute inspections, both indoors and outdoors
- Willing to work as a team player to solve problems, contribute ideas and make continuous improvements
- Motivated to learn and develop professional skills
