Procon Consulting, a fast-growing professional services firm in McLean, VA with expertise in providing program and project management for design and construction, project controls, commissioning, construction-related technology, and facilities management, seeks an Interior Designer / Systems Furniture Project Manager, for a project in conjunction with the federal government, in Washington, D.C. to join our expanding team.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Work with multiple lines of business to define program and requirements
- Work with customer to determine best location or multiple location options for each project
- Provide project schedule to customer and work with stakeholders to plan and execute projects
- Communicate project progress to customers, including high-level executives within DHS
- Move services - move customers to temporary location for duration of construction and move them back when construction is completed
- Team player with a positive attitude, is self-motivated and solution oriented
- A bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or construction management (civil, mechanical, electrical or architectural, etc.) from an accredited University recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or a minimum of four years in a project management position for interior renovation or new construction projects
- 5 years experience in commercial interior space design for large facility or building projects (new and renovations), management of multiple interior space designs and space optimization project
- 2 years of project management in building construction sector
- Experience managing complex new construction or major renovation commercial building projects, and experience managing simultaneous construction and/or building projects
- Experience managing simultaneous interior space design projects
- Knowledge and experience with standalone office furniture, chair design and conference rooms design and construction
- Ability to work independently and in groups
- Experience interfacing with GSA, A&E firms, building suppliers and construction trades
- Understanding of construction methodology and scheduling
- Understanding of space design, IT/Electrical drops, AV interface and other MEP, considerations as it relates to Interior space design layout
- Experience with the major systems furniture lines such as Knoll, Haworth, Steelcase, Herman Miller and UNICOR
- Experience developing Government project cost estimates, tracking funds and writing scope documents
- Ability to develop project schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera P3-P6
- Ability to direct facility construction activities and run construction progress meetings
- Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD), ability to electronically review and print AutoCAD documents
- Experience in commercial projects that included a large percentage of systems furniture
- Ability to pass a DHS “suitability” background investigation is a requirement
- Must have the ability to obtain a US security clearance
- Experience working with systems furniture
- Familiarity with NCR DHS locations is preferred
- Familiarity with design/construction of secure (SCIF) spaces is preferred
