JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing and managing the safety program at three manufacturing sites in Appleton, Little Chute, and Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in workplace safety. The Safety Manager will work closely with site leadership, supervisors, and employees to enhance safety awareness, implement best practices, and drive initiatives that reduce workplace hazards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs across all three facilities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local safety laws.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence.
- Provide training and coaching to employees and management on safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintain safety records, including injury and illness logs, incident reports, and regulatory documentation.
- Develop and track key safety performance metrics and report findings to leadership.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to ensure equipment and facility safety standards are met.
- Facilitate safety committee meetings and promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Support emergency preparedness and response programs, including drills and employee training.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies regarding safety compliance.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in paper converting or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of business office operations, filing, and administrative clerical operations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
