What are the responsibilities and job description for the Co-Director, Proctor in Spain position at Proctor Academy?
Proctor Academy, a coeducational, college preparatory boarding and day school in Andover, NH, is seeking to fill its Resident Co-Directorship position for Proctor’s Program in Segovia, Spain.
The position involves managing the Proctor in Spain immersion program, which consists of overseeing/chaperoning 10 students, managing staff members, and cultivating relationships with homestay families. Duties also include but are not limited to: teaching students Spanish, History, or Literature; designing and directing excursions with students; serving as the steward of student well-being and student advisor for the duration of the term; booking needed transportation/travel logistics; and communicating with students’ families in the United States. Close collaboration with the Dean of Teaching and Learning, to ensure academic standards are met and with the Dean of Students to ensure students adhere to all expectations while part of the program.
The ideal candidate should be fluent in the Spanish language, be able to work independently and in a team environment, have strong organization and management skills, have a good understanding of Proctor, be able to connect with and advise students who will be in Spain, be able to manage a budget, and have a high comfort with traveling, managing logistics, and risk management for a group of people.
