A leading organization in food and agriculture has a great opportunity for a Director of Outside Sales to manage, mentor, and coach a remote Regional Sales Team. This individual will drive the team's performance, develop and execute sales strategies, and foster strong relationships with key customers. The Director will also take charge of customer contract negotiations, set and ensure sales goals are met, and work closely with the production and harvesting teams to ensure the sales team is always up to date on product quality and supply.

Position is remote based with national travel to company offices, customers, trade shows, and functions. Preference for candidate location to be close to a larger airport.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead, manage, mentor, and coach a remote Regional Sales Team of four direct reports, ensuring team members are equipped to exceed their sales targets.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business goals and revenue growth.
- Take the lead in customer contract negotiations, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements for both the company and customers.
- Build and maintain high-level relationships with key customers, ensuring satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Set clear and achievable sales goals for the team; provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure these goals are met consistently.
- Collaborate closely with the production and harvesting teams to obtain real-time updates on product quality and supply; ensure that the sales team is aligned and able to meet customer needs.
- Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, growth, and new business development.
- Maintain and strengthen knowledge of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Promote a results-driven, collaborative, and proactive team culture, even within a remote environment.

The base salary they reasonably expect to pay for this role is : $125,000 - $195,000 / year. The actual salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or cash bonuses the position may be eligible for based on the role and / or employment type.
