What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vacation Relief Vault position at Producers Dairy Foods Inc?
Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all job positions and duties within the Vault, including but not limited to: picker, line dragger, palletizer, sanitation and case dock.
- Incoming products must be checked for proper codes, leakers, and damages.
- Responsible for the proper rotation of all production items to their assigned location including R.T.S.
- Assist in putting up orders for those customers who choose to pick up their own product.
- Must be able to separate, dump, and reprocess items before putting them on the line to be palletized
- Operating key equipment such as, automatic and manual case packer, boxed palletized system, pallet wrapping system, and forklift and electric pallet jack.
- Pre-checking all equipment for moving parts operation, photocell control operation, micro-switches, conveyors, and supporting supply inventories.
- Meeting applicable customer requirements, quality standards, product content, fill point, proper code date (box and bottle), box quality standard and finished pallet standard.
- Completing all shift paperwork timely and accurately.
- Maintaining glue in glue dispenser, supply box former magazine, wrap supply to wrapping machine, slip sheets in feeder and pallets in palletizer.
- Monitoring shift inventories of supporting supplies, boxes, pallets, glue, etc., and informs supervisor if in danger of running out.
- Assisting finished inventory handler as required by removing finished pallets to help keep the line running steady.
- Cleaning case washer on daily basis. Checking all spray jets, pumps, and refilling chemicals in case cleaner.
- Unloading trailers and trucks in a timely and efficient manner and maintaining case supply to fillers and trailers and trucks for load-out to prevent downtime.
- Thoroughly cleaning all trailer floors, walls, and ceilings.
- Maintaining accuracy in picking orders.
- Maintaining proper product rotation. Checking all codes and stock in area.
- Report any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor immediately.
- Practicing good housekeeping. Keeps work area clean and picked up.
- Maintains appropriate dress and personal appearance standards
- Knows, understands, and adheres to all Company policies and procedures
- Promotes and maintains Company goodwill in all areas. Assist others and performs other tasks as appropriate and/or necessary. Help maintain the positive image of the Company in the trade.
- Ability to work in a cold weather environment (warehouse operates at 36’F)
- Ability to work overtime on an as needed basis, with short notice if needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 3 or more years of experience in a warehouse/cold storage environment.
- Must be humble, approachable, and honest, yet able to lead and hold other accountable.
- Must be flexible and able to work any shift.
- Demonstrate good judgment, and problem solving and decision-making skills as well as being an organized record keeper.
- Must be a trustworthy self-starter who can work independently and deliver accurate, timely results.
- Must be able to stand/stoop and bend and be on your feet for long periods and lift or drag up to 100 pounds.
Hourly Wage: $23.31 $25.90
