Vault Teller

United Security Bank has a part-time, 38-hour-per-week Vault Teller, also known as a Merchant Teller, position available in our First & Herndon branch in Fresno.

General Responsibilities :

Is responsible for maintaining the main vault and performing various CSR duties as necessary to serve customers at the teller window.

Duties and Responsibilities :

1) Is responsible for maintaining the branch vault. Also performs various CSR activities necessary to serve customers at the teller window.

2) Identifies customer's needs and introduces them to appropriate bank services through a cross-selling effort.

3) Accepts deposits to checking, savings, and other accounts. Prepares cash reports for deposits over government maximums.

4) Cash checks and handles account withdrawals and processes cash advances.

5) Keeps vault cash amounts within the bank's policy. Ships currency and coins weekly. Orders coin and currency weekly.

6) Takes change orders from merchants and processes. Make sure all CSRs have enough currency / coins to help all customers.

7) Processes night depositories, and balance ATM.

8) Sells cashier's checks, money orders, and gift cards.

9) Accepts fast cash and loan payments.

10) Scans work for proof

11) Lists and proves cash pay items.

12) Verifies assigned drawer cash from and to the vault.

13) Balances cash in the drawer. Maintains drawer cash within the maximum prescribed by bank policy. Balance branch cash lines, proof suspense.

14) Obtains supervisor approval to process items larger than approval limits.

15) Monthly certifications, process outgoing wires

16) Answers telephone.

17) Compliance with all bank rules and policies applicable to each regular or assigned task.

Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements

• Two to four years of banking operations experience in a variety of jobs.
• Have a proven record of accuracy in approach to work output.
• Ability to count and balance cash rapidly and accurately and to locate own errors.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Thorough knowledge of the bank's new account and deposit regulations and interest rate schedules.
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. Basic language ability.
• Ability to accurately work with numbers and perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to accurately and effectively use a 10-key adding machine, Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work courteously and effectively with bank clients, prospective accounts, and staff members.
• Ability to explain complex information to bank customers.
• Demonstrated ability to cross-sell bank products to old and new customers.
• Physically able to handle a significant flow of coin bags and bundled currency.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods at the teller window.

Salary Description

20.25 - $26.52

Salary : $20 - $27
