Job Summary
The IT Director will lead and manage our technology infrastructure with a strong focus on network and wide area network (WAN) systems and companywide administration of these elements. This role will oversee the design, security, and performance of critical IT systems, ensuring reliable operations across geographically dispersed locations. The IT Director will supervise two IT professionals working in different specialized areas plus have dotted line authority with our field SCADA, communication and automation staff and be the primary manager of third-party support for these areas of the company
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supervision and Team Leadership :
Manage and provide guidance to two IT professionals, each specializing in distinct areas of expertise.
Foster collaboration among team members and other departments to optimize system performance and enhance operational efficiency.Support team development through mentoring and training.Participate in the management of the SCADA, field communication and automation staff as these elements interface with the technology infrastructureEngage other areas & departments of the organization to influence all things technological.Network and WAN Management :Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust network and WAN infrastructures to support business operations and organizational growth.
Ensure high availability, security, and performance of IT systems across multiple locations.Optimize network performance, scalability, and reliability to meet evolving business needs.Cybersecurity and Compliance :Implement and enforce cybersecurity measures to protect critical IT systems from internal and external threats.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and organizational policies.Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to proactively identify and address vulnerabilities.Maintain IT infrastructure to support business and operational efficiency.Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on technology trends and opportunities.Project Management and Vendor Relations :Oversee IT projects related to network upgrades, security enhancements, and system implementations.
Manage relationships with vendors and service providers, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to service level agreements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute IT initiatives that improve efficiency and reliability.Administer and advise on all software utilized by the enterpriseSystems Administration and Support :Maintain and optimize server infrastructure, data centers, and cloud systems critical to operational continuity.
Establish and oversee technical support processes to resolve network-related issues efficiently.Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime during emergencies.Qualifications :
Education :Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience :8–10 years of experience in IT, with 5 years in a management role overseeing network and infrastructure systems.
Strong expertise in network architecture, WAN technologies, and IT operations across geographically dispersed environments.Proven track record of implementing and maintaining secure, reliable IT infrastructures.Oil and gas energy industry experience is helpful but not required.Technical Skills :Proficiency in network technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, compliance requirements, and best practices in data protection.Experience with cloud computing, virtualization, and remote monitoring tools.Strong leadership and team-building abilities.Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.Effective communication skills to consult with technical and non-technical stakeholders.SUPERVISION
