Job Duties
- Develop, revise, and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as customer-specific safety requirements. Proactively incorporate regulatory updates into existing protocols to maintain compliance with evolving standards.
- Monitor employee activities within the shop facility and job sites across the country to ensure adherence to workspace safety regulations and standards. Perform regular risk assessments to ensure compliance, identify potential hazards and implement strategic measures to mitigate and effectively manage risks.
- Maintain a database of past and present welders, performing frequent quality examinations of in-progress and completed weldments to include direct-visual and remote-visual examination using an industrial endoscope.
- Responsible for oversight of subcontractor review and approval based on safety metrics.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, prepare detailed reports identifying root causes, and recommend preventive measures. Implement corrective actions to reduce risks and prevent future occurrences.
- As the safety committee leader, coordinate and facilitate weekly safety meetings with staff and quarterly committee meetings.
- Plan and facilitate online safety training programs for employees to ensure they are thoroughly informed about safety procedures and best practices.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records and documentation of safety incidents, audits, training sessions, and compliance activities.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, and Management, to seamlessly integrate safety measures into production planning and processes.
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification and coordinate training with the American Red Cross and PPT employees.
Preferred Experience
- Hands on experience as a welder utilizing various processes, especially GTAW.
- 5 years of experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related field
- American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and standards including OSHA and EPA
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks and effectively multitask, particularly in high-pressure situations involving accidents.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and foster a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Extensive attention to detail to identify safety hazards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend various national standards pertaining to process piping, power piping, sanitary/hygienic piping applications, and other applicable standards specific to customers.
- Proficiency in the development and testing of welding operations.
- Proficiency in Office365

- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred
