Position Summary
Reporting to the Buildings and Ground Manager, the Facility Maintenance Technician provides primary support to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the Houston office and shop facilities. The primary responsibility is maintaining the office and shops' function and appearance. This includes exterior appearance, equipment maintenance, storage & lay-down yard organization, shipping, and receiving. This Facility Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and functional environment for our employees and visitors.
Position Responsibilities
- Assist with facilities subcontractors, maintaining appearance and maintenance operations of the facility.
- Organize and track Truck, Trailer, and all Houston-based vehicle maintenance and repair.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining storage spaces.
- Schedule maintenance/repair of equipment, including HVAC, septic, fire detection and suppression, plumbing, and electrical.
- Resolve issues with bathroom/breakroom, gate & security, and repairs working in conjunction with the Office Manager.
- Respond promptly to facility emergencies and urgent maintenance requests, such as power outages, water leaks, and equipment failures. Take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and prevent further damage.
- Assist with emergent needs in the facility, including preparing the facility for changing weather conditions.
- Utilizes a work order or task tracking system to log/manage activities as required.
Required Qualifications
- 4 years of experience in industrial maintenance and/or construction
- High school diploma OR equivalent
- Understanding software, hardware, and networks
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and construction terms and applications
- Practical repair and troubleshooting ability.
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift 40 pounds
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa
- Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check satisfactorily
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing a mid-sized multi-functional facility
- Proficient in using various MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Proficient in the use of general office equipment and skilled at typing at a speed necessary for successful job performance
- Knowledge of communication principles and practices
- Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and communicate effectively
- Ability to respond respectfully to requests and inquiries from customers and the general public
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems in a logical and effective manner
- Ability to perform research, compile and analyze data, and write clear, concise and accurate reports
