Director of Human Resources – fully in office
Direct Hire; up to 130K bonus
Downtown Houston
**Smaller office or high net worth family office HIGHLY preferred
Duties:
Human Resources
- Interface with HR Specialists in areas of FMLA, Benefits, and Comp. to provide direct full-service HR to 120 employees in multiple locations and operations
- Handle salary and bonus administration; determine appropriateness of grade levels and survey data
- Administer payroll; post and review weekly and biweekly payroll for processing
- Oversee recruitment efforts of personnel, including job postings and interviews
- Prepare job descriptions for acknowledgement and signature
- Ensure new employee documents are completed and in compliance
- Provide independent contractor administration and compliance
- Administer leave and FMLA process to ensure compliance
- Manage separation process, conduct and analyze exit interviews, and make recommendations for workplace enhancements
- Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate action; offer advice and counsel to assist in resolving workplace grievances
- Manage employee branding initiatives and collateral
- Partner with Benefits team to create clear, effective communication strategies around benefits during Open Enrollment
- Maintain employee handbooks and oversee electronic employee data in HRIS/Payroll systems
- Prepare custom reports for principals including org charts, employee emergency contact list, vacation, and sick time
- Maintain HR systems and processes; attend interdepartmental meetings
Safety
- Identify and anticipate safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions
- Guide and promote safe work performance by developing safety systems, policies, and procedures; comply with federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, and advising managers and employees
- Office Administration
- Manage file database and physical files; organize file structures and permissions; oversee HR and administrative staff in proper maintenance of file
- Manage department calendar including deadlines and key milestones
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in Human Resources, safety, business administration, industrial psychology, or related
- 10 years of progressive HR experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and report writing including strong Excel; Workday a HUGE plus
- Bilingual – Spanish speaking a plus.
- Knowledge of employment and safety governmental regulations, compensation/benefits, and project management
- Interface with all levels of employees, senior management, and outside vendors
- Think analytically and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communications skills; people oriented and results driven
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
