Estimator | Sourcing Agent – IMMEDIATE NEED

First Quarter 2025 – West Houston
**responsible for calculating the projected costs of goods or services needed for a project, and actively source and negotiate with vendors to acquire items at the best possible price and terms
**must understand construction project management and relevant building codes
Duties:
Sourcing:
- Identify and procure construction materials and services from vendors at the best possible price and quality, ensuring timely delivery to meet project deadlines, while managing supplier relationships and compliance with company standards within the residential home building industry
- Act as a key player in the purchasing process for construction projects by negotiating contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Monitoring deliveries and resolving any issues with shipments
Estimating:
- Analyze project specifications to determine required materials and labor – focused on foundation, frame, lumber, siting, HVAC, floor system, etc.; familiar with plan redesign
- Research market prices for materials and services from various vendors
- Calculate estimated costs based on quantities, labor rates, and other factors
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns for project proposals; know when budgets are off
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in estimating and purchasing within residential home building industry
- Collaborative team player, flexible, eager, high energy, and passionate; dependable, committed, and loyal
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships
- Strong analytical skills to accurately calculate costs; negotiation abilities
- Knowledge of the relevant market and industry standards
- Proficiency in estimating software and procurement systems
- Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in cost calculations and purchase orders
