Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Personal Care Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care to individuals, particularly in specialized environments such as teaching hospitals and trauma centers.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Monitor and document patient health status, reporting any changes to nursing staff.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to hygiene standards.
- Support the healthcare team by assisting with basic medical tasks as directed.
- Engage in patient education regarding health management and wellness practices.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals in various settings such as inpatient units, clinics, or trauma centers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Knowledge of hospital medicine practices and familiarity with medical-surgical environments is advantageous.
- Experience working in inpatient care or teaching hospitals is a plus.
- Understanding of geriatrics and pediatric intensive care (PICU) principles is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I or Level II Trauma Centers.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

- Must be able to pass background checks as required by healthcare regulations.
