The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for all accounting functions, but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgets, audits as well as some work creating and or completing financial reporting/analysis and modeling. The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for managing multiple projects as well as having the ability to work across divisions. This position works closely with Department Leaders and the Finance team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs monthly BS reconciliations to include accrued/deferred revenue
- Performs analysis of general ledger accounts to ensure reasonableness and accuracy
- Prepares journal entries as needed to adjust general ledger
- Prepares and posts monthly recurring entries
- Responsible for credit card and expense report reconciliations
- Ability to oversee and manage projects, while ensuring financials are kept in line
- Work closely with Department Leaders and the Controller on monthly and annual financial report generation and reconciliation
- Work closely with Department Head with the development, preparation, and implementation of annual budget
- Work closely in assisting internal and external accountants with completion of preparation of annual tax returns and completion of financial statement audit(s)
- Perform other fiduciary responsibilities/duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and a broad knowledge of accounting systems
- Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and word-processing software
- Prior experience with SAP and Concur preferred
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to comprehend complex memos, reports and other forms of written communication
- Ability to work autonomously with little or no direction
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Team Player
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting - preferred
- Equitable professional experience
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
- Five years or more of progressive accounting work experience
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required based on business needs
- Some travel may be necessary
