Description

We’re searching for candidates who are experienced within the Structured Cabling industry utilizing BICSI, NEC, and industry standards. BICSI and manufacturer certifications are great, we also provide training and certification opportunities.
Position Overview
Our Lead Cabling technicians work as leaders on our client sites, which includes directing the team to project success. Additionally, the Lead Technician manages the onsite installation, on the job training and coaching of team members, and communicates with Project Manager/Estimators on job status. You will work alongside your crew to rough-in cables, build support structures and pathways, pull cables, terminate cables, build closets, and perform fire-stopping procedures and follow prints.
Essential Responsibilities
- Implement network installation projects by learning project documents, plans, specifications and planning material orders for supplies, material and tools, survey project sites; documenting as-built drawings and project documents throughout the installation and upon completion.
- Pulling and routing cable in new construction and existing structure commercial and production environments.
- Rough-in cables in various environments such as ceiling spaces, conduits or basket tray.
- Build support structures and pathways, pull cable, drop cable down thru walls, terminate cables, build closets, and perform fire-stopping procedures and follow prints.
- Terminate data jack.
- Install support structures (ladder tray, racks, j-hooks).
- Deliver exceptional customer service.
- Accurately complete all paperwork including work and service orders.
- Maintain control of assigned Company property and ensure equipment is maintained in safe operating conditions, and effectively communicate needs to management.
- Provide feedback, training and guidance to Technicians.
- Deliver Toolbox Talks/Safety Meetings to Technicians.
Qualifications
- Previous commercial structured cabling and/or low voltage cabling experience required.
- Ability to handle physical workload. Physical demands include but not limited to standing, walking, or driving for long periods of time, work from high places, climb ladders, and navigate through small tight areas; and lift up to 50 – 80 lbs. without assistance.
- Pass background check and 10 panel drug screen.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Teammates may be required to work nights, weekends and/or travel depending on project requirements.
Additional Knowledge
Professional Cabling Solutions is always looking for the above candidates to take the lead on our projects or to work as a technician. The following preferred skills are a plus, however if not present, shall be taught where applicable:
- BICSI Certifications or knowledge
- Manufacturer Certifications
- NEC National Electrical Code
- OSHA Training
- Fiber optic Termination, Mechanical or Fusion Splice
- Fluke copper and fiber optic tester use
