The Fire Sprinkler Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, service and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. This role requires technical knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of fire protection codes and safety standards. The technician will work directly with project managers and clients to ensure that all installations and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with NFPA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Maintain, service, and repair fire sprinkler systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA and local fire codes.
· Perform routine maintenance and testing of fire sprinkler systems, including valves, piping, and heads.
· Troubleshoot and repair system deficiencies to ensure the functionality and reliability of the sprinkler systems.
· Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and clients to ensure installations meet project specifications and timelines.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and installations, providing detailed reports to management and clients.
· Ensure compliance with all safety standards and fire protection codes during installation and maintenance tasks.
· Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs as needed to restore system functionality.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and work vehicles in proper working order, ensuring all tools are available and service-ready.
· Follow company protocols, safety procedures, and project plans, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· 3 years of experience in fire sprinkler system maintenance and repair.
· NICET 2 certified, DPOR certified
· Strong knowledge of NFPA and local fire protection codes and standards.
· Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain system operations and repairs to clients.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
· NICET 2 certification in Water-Based Systems or equivalent. DPOR approved.
· OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification.
· Experience with various fire sprinkler systems and components, including wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.
