SUMMARY
The Engineering Technology Specialist - Electromechanical, Bar, is responsible for maintaining and optimizing electromechanical systems, with a primary focus on the bar production line. This role involves leading maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and supporting the implementation of PLC programming and automation systems. The individual will work independently to ensure equipment reliability and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime. The position also includes mentoring technicians and managing maintenance schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead PLC programming and troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation systems in the bar production line.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of electromechanical machinery and automation systems.
- Provide technical support for advanced troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical issues.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules for bar production equipment, ensuring parts are ordered and equipment is in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular inspections, make repairs, and upgrade equipment to enhance performance and reliability.
- Install and upgrade system components to improve optimization and perform diagnostic assessments.
- Analyze equipment performance and identify opportunities for improvement in the bar production line.
- Lead cost-reduction initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency in the bar production process.
- Mentor and supervise engineering technicians, offering guidance and training as needed.
- Participate in decisions related to employee performance, promotions, and other personnel changes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead or supervise a team of engineering technicians as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Strong ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental responsibility.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience (7 years).
- Experience with PLC programming and robotic systems, specifically in a bar production environment.
- Prior supervisory or lead technician experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and excellent analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, Word) and AutoCAD.
SALARY: $75K - 95K
