Production Manager

Job Summary
Responsible for managing all aspects of the manufacturing process, the Production Manager will facilitate efficient production by managing staff, scheduling production runs, maintaining quality control, optimizing workflows, and coordinating with other departments to meet production deadlines and quality standards, all while adhering to company policies and safety regulations; key responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring production progress, troubleshooting issues, training operators, and identifying areas for improvement to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

Essential Job Functions

· Production Planning and Scheduling:

o Develop and implement detailed production schedules based on order requirements, ensuring optimal utilization of machinery and workforce using Just In Time (JIT) manufacturing approach

· Quality Control:

o Monitor quality standards throughout the manufacturing, assembly and packaging processes, identifying and addressing any defects to maintain product consistency

· Staff Management:

o Supervise and motivate the production team by communicating expectations, providing appropriate training and evaluating performance

· Efficiency Optimization:

o Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase production efficiency and output

· Equipment Maintenance:

o Oversee the upkeep and regular maintenance of sewing machines and other production equipment

· Coordinate and Collaborate:

o Work with Awards, Customer Service and Shipping departments to meet necessary product deadlines

· Problem- Solving:

o Troubleshoot production inefficiencies and areas of improvement in the department

· Compliance:

o Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry standards within the production area

· New Product Implementation:

o Collaborate with design teams to transition new product designs into efficient production processes

· Inventory Management:

o Monitor raw material inventory levels and communicate with Purchasing Manager for requisition of materials necessary for production volume

o Conduct inventory cycle counts periodically and annual physical inventory annually

Non-Essential Job Functions

· Be self-motivated, show initiative, and good manufacturing practices

· Purchase consumable supplies and parts necessary for department processes

· Ability to work in both hot and cold climates

Requirements

· Proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel and Word. Strong computer navigation skills

· Proven experience in textile manufacturing, preferably in a supervisory role within a cut and sew production environment

· Understanding of sewing operations, machine capabilities, and product construction techniques

· Experience or familiarity with various manufacturing methods, including batch manufacturing

· Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including design, production planning, and quality control

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects at once

· Willing to adjust priorities or objectives as needed to meet change in demand

Other Skills/Abilities

· Ability to motivate and manage a team, providing clear direction and feedback

· Experience with embroidery operations is a plus

· Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for hours at a time

· Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
