Job Title : Safety Specialist
Pay : $45 to $50 / hour (Straight Time)
Additional Benefits : Per Diem

Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Specialist to join our team in Athens, TX. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects, particularly in high-voltage environments (HVE). The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and possess strong leadership and communication skills to foster a culture of safety on-site.
Key Responsibilities :
Safety Program Development and Implementation :
Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and AEP standards.
Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
Training and Education :
Provide safety training sessions, including CPR / AED / First Aid, for team members and contractors.
Facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) training to enhance problem-solving capabilities in the event of safety incidents.
Incident Management :
Lead investigations for all incidents, including near misses, and ensure accurate reporting.
Perform root cause analysis for safety incidents and develop corrective action plans.
Regulatory Compliance :
Maintain compliance with OSHA 30 standards and other relevant safety regulations.
Stay updated on local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Collaboration and Communication :
Partner with project management, site supervisors, and contractors to foster a culture of safety.
Ensure that all employees and contractors adhere to site safety protocols.
Qualifications :
Education & Certification :
OSHA 30 certification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in safety management in construction.
Current CPR / AED / First Aid certification.
Root Cause Analysis Training Certification.
Experience :
3-5 years of safety management experience in high-voltage environments (HVE).
Proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective safety programs.
Skills :
Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in conducting safety training and presentations.
Analytical mindset for performing root cause analysis and developing preventive measures.
Salary : $45 - $50
