Job Summary: Provide professional development and technical assistance to Region 7 customers in understanding and maintaining compliance with current state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, related to School Safety Contracted Services, Intruder Detection Audits, and the ESC Title IV, Part A Basic Services. This is done within the framework of the philosophy and objectives of the ESC as established by Board policy, consistent with the statutes and standards of the Texas Education Agency, and in accordance with regulations and procedures.
Qualification:
Education/Training: Bachelor Degree or Required License
Prefer Master Degree in related field
Experience: At Least 5 years of related experience
Prefer experience with behavioral threat assessments, Emergency Operation Plans, School Safety funding sources, Standard Response Protocol, and Standard Reunification Method.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Provide professional development and technical assistance to Region 7 customers in understanding and maintaining compliance with current federal and state laws, rules, and guidance, which may include Safe and Healthy Students, Intruder Alert Audits, Emergency Operation Plans, School Safety and Security Audits, Vulnerability (Facility) Audits, Psychological First-Aid, and Behavioral Threat Assessment to advance student academic achievement, state and federal accountability.
2. Design, plan, and implement regional professional development based on requests and needs assessment data from district, state, and regional data sources, including personnel serving special populations.
3. Collaborate with ESC staff in the development of activities that support district implementation of School Safety (federal and local), Behavioral Threat Assessment, Standard Response Protocol, Standard Reunification Method, School Safety and Security Plans, and Intruder Detection Audits.
4. Provide professional development for campus teams to perform ongoing campus security/safety audits.
5. Provide on-site guidance through the security/safety audit process.
6. Provide on-site active threat response training.
7. Provide professional development and technical assistance in the development of the LEAs Emergency Operation Plan.
8. Participate in professional development based on job description, performance evaluation, and job goals.
9. Gather needs assessment and program evaluation data, and analyze the data for ongoing program planning, improvement, and implementation.
10. Have a working knowledge of assigned budgets for allowable use of funds and program intent.
11. Demonstrate teamwork with regional and state ESC personnel and collaborate with LEA groups for program effectiveness and requirements.
12. Assist coordinator with documentation and compliance requirements for ESC 7 and LEAs, as required by the ESC Title IV, Part A Basic Services Grant, the Texas Education Agency(TEA) and the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC).
13. Participate in ESC Staff meetings and department meetings.
14. Participate in formal and informal professional development activities based on needs assessment data, job description, performance evaluation, and job goals.
15. Attend TEA/TxSSC meetings and other meetings as required.
16. Provide support with improving student outcomes and achieving accountability targets.
17. Regular and reliable attendance.
18. Other duties as assigned.

Funding
All Region 7 employees are at-will employees. Because your assignment is funded by grants, federal funding, and/or special funding, your continued employment is expressly conditioned on the availability of funding for the position. If funding becomes unavailable due to loss of state/federal funding or due to financial constraints of Region 7 ESC, your position is subject to immediate termination.
