Buyer Responsibilities:

• Basic knowledge and comprehension to read drawings, blueprints, BOM’s and specifications for requesting quotations and reviewing proposals
• Can negotiate with vendors to obtain agreement on such items as price, availability, delivery and quality to obtain the maximum value for the company
• The ability to source new parts and or new suppliers based on internal criteria
• Prepare RFQ’s (Request for Quotes), supplier cost comparison and generate Purchase Orders using a system like an ERP system.
• Track all purchase orders on a weekly basis and expedite orders as needed to meet manufacturing schedules.
• Ability to perform material analysis of items required per BOM and determine pacing items based on lead times in the open market
• Familiarity with Contract Manufacturers process for producing PCBA’s and CCA’s
• Coordinate with other internal teams such as inventory control, manufacturing, program managers, quality and accounting to assure outsource items meet internal and external customer needs

Buyer Requirements:

• 5 years of electronic component, PCB and PCBA buying, preferably with aerospace or military requirements in a new product and or R & D environment.
• Ability to create and build strategic supplier relationships as well as internal relationships with personnel that you will work with daily.
• Experience in dealing with outside service providers for design work, calibration, rental test equipment and tools.
• Experience of working in an ISO certified company and can follow standard operating procedures and processes.
• Dependable in meeting attendance requirements, adhering to deadlines for part deliveries, achieving objectives, and remaining resilient under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook.
