Looking for an entry level position into the social service field?

The Individual Skill Development Enhancement Worker provides individual skill development and support to adults referred through the Comprehensive Community Services Program. The program mentors, supports and assists adults in follow through and success of individualized goals four our clients. Services include case management, individual meetings and structured activities which build social skills, provide crisis intervention, social support and collaborative partnerships to enhance daily life skills.

PSG/CIP is a multi-service community-based social services organization that fulfills its mission of helping individuals and families to achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost-effective, and innovative programming responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SKILL DEVELOPMENT/ENHANCEMENT WORKER:

  • Analyze client capabilities, strengths, and problems to determine the services required to meet the unique needs of the individual.
  • Implement, evaluate, and review goals in collaboration with team members, and the client.
  • Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for the client in the community and during emergency and crisis situations.
  • Attend team meetings and report progress to the CCS Program and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Organize and facilitate individual meetings and structured activities that assist in developing pro-social skills and connections.
  • Increase life skills by assisting in budgeting and housing, employability skills, enhancing technology skills, maintaining abstinence, increase social connections/building community and increasing independent living skills.
  • Safely transport clients as needed.
  • Must complete all required trainings for the program, provided by the company.

LOCATION: Office is in Kenosha, WI. Local travel is required to meet clients at home or other community spaces, with mileage reimbursement. Must be able to meet in-person with families located in Kenosha County, Wisconsin

SCHEDULE: Part-time schedule with possible transition to full-time. Typical hours are Monday-Friday between 9:00am and 6:00pm with occasional evenings to accommodate clients' needs. Flexible schedule and opportunity to work hybrid/remote.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, human services or other related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license and automobile insurance.
