PSG is a community-based social services organization dedicated to helping individuals and families through dynamic and innovative programming. We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Adult CCS Service Facilitation program.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Adult CCS Service Facilitation program provides intensive case management services to adult clients who have significant mental health and/or substance use needs and diagnoses. Clients are supported through the success of their goals by a flexible array of community-based services. These services incorporate a wraparound model of service delivery to assist the person in living their best possible life, reducing the impact of their mental health and/or substance abuse disorder, and assisting the person in their journey to recovery.
As the Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will provide peer support to a caseload of clients referred through the Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) Program and through Treatment Court in Kenosha County. The Peer Support Specialist will maintain regular client contact, both phone and in-person, to work on self-advocacy and skill-building goals. This role will also work closely with Kenosha County Treatment Court and will attend weekly Court sessions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CERTIFIED PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST:
- Participate as an integral part of assigned clients' identified recovery team and part of Kenosha County Treatment Court
- Assist recipients and the recovery team with constructing an Individualized Service Plan.
- Provide recipients with information and insight about recovery.
- Provide support groups to interested service recipients when appropriate.
- Provide support in connecting service recipients with community organizations and support groups.
- Provide support in accessing clinical services/supports as needed.
- Attend CCS recovery team meetings and weekly Treatment Court.
- Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate in school, the community, and during emergency and crisis situations.
- Complete billing and other documentation in accordance with standards and policies.
- Safely transport clients as needed.
SALARY: $21.00-23.00 per hour
LOCATION: Kenosha Job Center with flexibility for hybrid work scheduling. Local travel is required to meet with clients within the home and other community spaces, with mileage reimbursement.
SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week Monday-Friday between 8:00am-5:00pm. May need to flex hours to accommodate client availability.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
- Wisconsin State Peer Specialist certification is required.
- At minimum, must have a high school diploma / GED / equivalent.
