Linux System Administrator - 1 year Contract role
Location : In Person, Tallahassee, FL 32301
Pay : $70-$75 / hr
Schedule : M - F 8 : 00a-5 : 00p
Job Summary :
This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of UNIX / Linux systems, both physical and cloud-hosted. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software problems, monitoring system performance, and developing disaster recovery plans. The role requires expertise in various technologies, including Linux, cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure), WebSphere, WebLogic, databases, and various monitoring and management tools. Responsibilities also include collaborating with development teams, implementing security measures, and providing technical support.
Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, maintain, and secure UNIX / Linux systems and related hardware / software.
- Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues.
- Monitor systems, optimize performance, and perform capacity planning.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
- Implement security measures and conduct security audits.
- Collaborate with development teams on application deployments and support.
- Automate and improve development and release processes.
- Provide technical support and training to users.
- Document system configurations and procedures.
- Evaluate and test new hardware and software.
- Stay current with Linux server technologies and security best practices.
- Participate in on-call support.
