Professional Supply, Inc. is a growing, locally owned, and privately held national distributor of a complete line of maintenance / cleaning / janitorial supplies and equipment. We have been in business over 46 years (founded 1978). Professional Supply is seeking an experienced, external, and internal customer service-oriented Accountant.
We are recruiting an accounting professional who takes initiative, can work without close supervision, drives projects forward, effectively deals with multiple priorities and frequent interruptions, and is a good written and verbal communicator.
This is a full-time, day shift opportunity (40-45 hours per week).
Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
Process payments including ACH’s, checks, and credit cards
Collections
Invoice deduction reconciliation
Accounts Payable
Process invoices
Assist in weekly check runs
Reconcile monthly credit card charges to statements and sales associates spreadsheets
Month-End:
Reconciling inventory
Reconciling general ledger accounts
Consolidated monthly billings
Monthly Vendor Billbacks
Quarterly Rebates
Monthly reconciliation of sales associates spreadsheets
Sales & Use Tax reporting
Vendor and Supplier W-9 & Wisconsin tax exemption compliance
Other:
Monthly projects as needed
Assist Accounting Supervisor as needed
Assist other Office personnel as needed
Requirements
Education
Associate’s degree in accounting
Experience
3-5 years accounting experience, preferably in a distributor, manufacturing, or transportation setting.
Technical skills
Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting processes
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Experience
Professional Supply’s ERP System is Step One. It is a specialized Janitorial / Sanitation industry ERP system. This experience would be a plus, but this specific ERP system experience is not required.
Strong computer skills, including
Microsoft Excel - Spreadsheet knowledge and skills including mid-level experience.
Microsoft Word - Mid level skills and experience.
Soft Skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high level of accuracy and organization
Ability to deal with frequent interruptions and get back to time sensitive task quickly
High level of ethics and integrity
Self-motivated, accountable, and results oriented
