Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Compensation and Benefits Manager to join our Human Resources team. This role will oversee and manage all compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive, compliant, and aligned with the company’s overall strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and administering compensation and benefits packages, as well as the ability to analyze compensation data to maintain fair and equitable pay practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage compensation strategies, including base pay, variable pay, bonuses, and incentive programs
- Conduct market research and salary benchmarking to ensure the organization remains competitive within industry standards
- Administer job evaluations and compensation surveys to determine the appropriate pay structure
- Advise leadership on salary decisions, pay equity, and market trends
- Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other fringe benefits
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements regarding benefits, including ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA regulations
- Regularly evaluate benefit offerings to ensure they meet employee needs and align with the company’s strategic objectives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation and benefits
- Develop and maintain compensation and benefits policies, ensuring consistency across the organization
- Prepare reports and participate in audits to ensure adherence to legal requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and management regarding compensation and benefits inquiries
- Provide education and guidance to employees on available benefits, compensation packages, and any changes or updates
- Communicate compensation and benefits changes effectively to employees through presentations, emails, and individual discussions
- Analyze compensation data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare regular compensation and benefits reports for senior management
- Utilize HRIS and other tools to track and analyze compensation and benefits data
- Partner with HR to assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs in supporting employee retention and engagement
- Recommend changes or enhancements to compensation and benefits packages to align with organizational goals and market trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 5 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
- Strong knowledge of compensation theory, practices, and benefit program design
- In-depth understanding of legal requirements and regulatory compliance regarding compensation and benefits
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to all levels of employees
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional certification (e.g., CCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred
