The Director of Operations works closely with field teams, project managers, and division heads to optimize workflows, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive efficiency in all construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage weekly cycle reporting for all construction divisions, including labor productivity, material costs, equipment utilization, and job profitability.
- Lead the Project Coordination team, ensuring efficient project setup, scheduling and reschedules with a focus on minimizing re-work.
- Implement and maintain project management system, streamline communication, scheduling, and document control.
- Ensure seamless integration of job reporting and system management for new projects and locations, working with IT and field personnel to maintain up-to-date data.
- Collaborate with procurement to improve operational workflows and maintain supply chain efficiency for materials.
- Work with safety teams to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies, ensuring reporting mechanisms include safety tracking.
- Identify construction process inefficiencies, propose solutions, and oversee implementation of workflow improvements across divisions.
- Support cost control initiatives, ensuring that project expenditures align with budget forecasts.
- Meet weekly with the COO to review division reports, project tracking metrics, and operational efficiency improvements.
Required:
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within the construction, contracting, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of field operations, safety compliance, inventory management, and customer engagement.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics or similar systems for reporting and operational management.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration, or a related field.
