Responsibilities
HCBS Manager is responsible to oversee day-to-day operations of their assigned locations and caseloads, ensuring quality programming, compliance with regulations, staff scheduling, and budget management. This role supervises HCBS Direct Support Staff and reports to the HCBS Senior Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and support hiring, training, and evaluation of HCBS Direct Support Staff.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and agency/state regulations.
- Conduct initial orientation and skill assessment for new person served.
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring new persons served.
- Maintain a safe and secure living environment for person served.
- Schedule staff to provide consistent care and coverage.
- Maintain open communication with the HCBS Senior Coordinator, team members, and individuals served.
- Oversee staff budgeting procedures and financial tracking.
- Ensure timely, accurate documentation and reporting.
- Conduct home visits, team meetings, and compliance checks.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency support.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- A Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences plus 1 year of relevant experience, or A High School diploma (or equivalent) plus 5 years of experience in Human Services.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must have a valid Iowa Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to travel between assigned locations (personal vehicle required, with adequate liability insurance).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
