Key Job Elements

Minimum Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor, evaluate, & review standard work with department Supervisor;
  • Analyze major metrics (open tags, inventory accuracy, shipping accuracy, etc.) monthly, looking for


positive and/or negative trends;

  • Work with Planners or Suppliers as needed to resolve issues such as OS&D, record accuracy, or shipping


discrepancies;

  • Work to ensure teamwork between departments;
  • Respond quickly to changing operations and customer needs.


Advanced duties and responsibilities

  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or


classes, and teaching or instructing others.

  • Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or processrelated topics.
  • Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes.


Education / Training

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • B.A./B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience, preferred.


Qualifications And Experience

  • Analytical ability where problems are complex;
  • Demonstrated understanding supply chain processes;
  • Experience in inventory control;
  • Accuracy and the ability to make independent decisions within the limits of processes;
  • Must be detail oriented;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);
  • Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others;
  • Well-developed oral and written communications skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Ability to work additional hours as deemed required;
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chain;
  • Product knowledge of locomotives and their components;
  • Understanding of Supply Chain principles and Distributed Requirements Planning (DRP).
  • Strength – Occasional lifting, up to 35 lbs individually and 55 lbs team lift;
  • Motion – The position spends the majority of time in an office setting, at desk utilizing office equipment;
  • Vision/Hearing Requirements – May spend long periods of time in front of computer screen. Must be


capable of using a variety of communication devices;

  • Work Environment – Work in non-temperature-controlled environment in most situations. Must be capable of wearing PPE (safety glasses, hardhats, metatarsal boots, earplugs, gloves, etc.) No jewelry (in shop);
  • Emotional Demands – Must have good communications skills and attention to details;
  • Safety – This is not a safety sensitive position. PPE is required when working in production areas.
