Education / Training :

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
B.A. / B.S. degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience, preferred.

Job Title : Logistics Analyst

Key Job Elements :

Minimum duties and responsibilities

Monitor, evaluate, & review standard work with department Supervisor;

Analyze major metrics (open tags, inventory accuracy, shipping accuracy, etc.) monthly, looking for

positive and / or negative trends;

Work with Planners or Suppliers as needed to resolve issues such as OS&D, record accuracy, or shipping

discrepancies;

Work to ensure teamwork between departments;

Respond quickly to changing operations and customer needs.

Advanced duties and responsibilities

Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

Identifying the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or

classes, and teaching or instructing others.

Providing guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems-, or processrelated topics.

Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes.

Qualifications and Experience :

Analytical ability where problems are complex;

Demonstrated understanding supply chain processes;

Experience in inventory control;

Accuracy and the ability to make independent decisions within the limits of processes;

Must be detail oriented;

Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook);

Medium level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others;

Well-developed oral and written communications skills;

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;

Ability to work additional hours as deemed required;

Knowledge of manufacturing operations and supply chain;

Product knowledge of locomotives and their components;

Understanding of Supply Chain principles and Distributed Requirements Planning (DRP).

Strength – Occasional lifting, up to 35 lbs individually and 55 lbs team lift;

Motion – The position spends the majority of time in an office setting, at desk utilizing office equipment;

Vision / Hearing Requirements – May spend long periods of time in front of computer screen. Must be

capable of using a variety of communication devices;

Work Environment – Work in non-temperature-controlled environment in most situations. Must be capable of wearing PPE (safety glasses, hardhats, metatarsal boots, earplugs, gloves, etc.) No jewelry (in shop);

Emotional Demands – Must have good communications skills and attention to details;

Safety – This is not a safety sensitive position. PPE is required when working in production areas.
