By working closely with other software engineers, support, product managers, UI/UX designers, and key stakeholders, you'll help deliver the best experiences for our users. You'll actively contribute to the success of the team by innovating, participating in technical discussions, and contributing to the development of products that will transform the organization. Key responsibilities include the following:
As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll take on a critical role of turning business needs into technology solutions, specifically for our OpenEdge organization. By working closely with other software engineers, support, product managers, UI/UX designers, and key stakeholders, you'll help deliver the best experiences for our users. You'll actively contribute to the success of the team by innovating, participating in technical discussions, and contributing to the development of products that will transform the organization. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Ensure consistent technical direction
- Define work process, refining agile process to work best for the team
- Gain visibility and recognition across the organization for technical competence and guidance
- Lead cross-team engineering initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineering managers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within your organization.
- Initiate and manage partnerships in other parts of the organization
- Lead and influence the architectural design of complex systems
- Contribute to the integration of software components into a fully functional software system
- Work closely with product management, operations, and other engineering teams to align technical initiatives with business goals and customer requirements.
- Oversee the execution of multiple complex engineering projects across teams. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software that meets customer needs and business objectives.
- Drive initiatives to improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement best practices in software development and operations (DevOps) across your organization.
- Drive AI and LLM integration strategies to modernize the OpenEdge platform and deliver enhanced value to customers
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define and implement the technical vision and strategy for your area of responsibility.
- Define and track key business metrics for your teams. Use data-driven insights to optimize team performance and drive continuous improvement
- Provide support and mentorship to the engineering team
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders on the development of products
- Contribute to standards, procedures and process
Your background:
- 7 years of experience in software development as a developer
- 2 years of experience in software development as a manager
- Hands-on technical experience with C/C , Java, .NET Core
- Several years of technical contribution and leadership in a structured team environment
- Experience with architecting and leading the development of complex enterprise systems
- Solid stakeholder management
- Solid background in modern software building, develop & deploy practices, cloud technologies, and DevOps.
- Solid knowledge of the agile software development process
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience with security testing methodologies, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices
- Experience in AI/ML implementation strategies, particularly LLM integration at an enterprise level
- Experience in executing AI transformation roadmaps for legacy software platforms
- Understanding of LLM capabilities, limitations, and ethical considerations in enterprise applications
