Progressive Life Center, Inc. (PLC) provides culturally-sensitivity human services to children, youth and families in the District of Columbia and surrounding Maryland, throughout Greater Philadelphia, and in most of Delaware. PROGRAM OVERVIEW
h Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program
The Faith Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) program is designed to support the Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women (OVW), grantees and sub grantees in their efforts to provide culturally specific services to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking within faith-based communities. The program aims to enhance the capacity of grantees by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to establish effective partnerships with faith organizations and other community stakeholders.
Culturally Specific Services Program (CSSP)
Project “African American Community-Based Bystander Prevention Education Program” focuses on training and education throughout Prince George’s County, MD to the faith community, local providers and community bystanders. PLC also hosts support groups / healing circles for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking that address : workplace protection, safety planning, economic and financial education, housing and homelessness, and emergency services. As part of the healing circle, the facilitator focuses on self-care, healing as a natural process, and introduces PLC’s service delivery model NTU™ which focuses on the principles : Harmony, Balance, Interconnectedness, and Authenticity. We provide community referrals and linkages for legal support, housing, safety planning, counseling, and continued group support.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and facilitate healing circles for survivors.
- Provide domestic violence training to Prince George’s County local management board staff.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute client-related activities.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and provide technical assistance support for trainings and webinars.
- Coordinate steady communication among OVW awarded faith-based grantees.
- Operate all virtual platforms.
- Create correspondence materials.
- Update the domestic violence webpage.
- Provide overall administrative support to the projects.
- Enter and maintain accurate data in PLC’s database or other contract mandated databases.
- Attend all required virtual and in-person meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
