Description:
The Benefits and Leave Administrator will be responsible for the administration of PMD’s benefits and leave programs, while contributing to the overall success of the Human Resources department. The Benefits and Leave administrator will also help support the company wellness strategy.
Benefits Administration Responsibilities
- Be the go-to expert for all employee benefits-related questions and concerns, ensuring clarity and satisfaction.
- Reconcile monthly benefits invoices with accuracy and efficiency.
- Initiate, research, and approve employee benefits changes within the company HRIS system; including employee life events, HSA changes, and demographic changes.
- Audit weekly and monthly EDI feedback files and correct errors as needed.

Coordinate open enrollment activities with oversite from The Human Resources team; including:
- Distributing communications
- Organizing and hosting educational meetings
- Assisting employees with enrollments
- Setting up the benefits administration portal
- Validating final enrollment data
- Support benefits communications plan with oversight from Human Resources team by sending out timely and engaging benefits communications and updates.
- Assist new hires with benefits enrollment as needed.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Leave Administration Responsibilities
- Proactively reach out to employees when becoming aware of a leave occurrence.
- Perform leave intake to ensure eligibility, proper classification, and claims initiation.
- Collaborate with the HR Director or Generalist to finalize FMLA eligibility determinations.
- Coordinate documentation with IT for extended leave processes, from start to finish.
- Stay informed and compliant with regulations such as NYS PFL, NYS DBL, FMLA, and HIPAA.
Other HR Responsibilities
- Support Wellness Strategy by helping administer wellness plans and communications.
- Celebrate life’s milestones by assisting with employee life events (e.g., sending cards for new births).
- Offer hands-on support with HCM platform updates and password resets.
- Foster strong relationships with PMD employees, earning their trust and respect.
- Assist with other Human Resources responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 0-3 years of Leave administration experience
- 0-3 years of Benefits administration experience
- High school Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree in related field, preferred
