Compliance Manager
Job Description
- Manage/update annual & monthly reports for city and state agencies regarding unit vacancies, applicable fractions, current rent limits, income amounts, and household composition
- Prepare for and respond to annual Management Occupancy Reviews (HCR, HDC), investor reviews, other agency audits
- Provide training for new and existing occupancy staff in project-based Section 8, Tax Credit, and mixed financing properties
- Monitor project based Section 8 and LIHTC properties for ongoing compliance with all applicable Tax Credit and Section 8 procedures and policies.
- Identify, develop and implement new training procedures and create literature to align with ongoing changes in affordable housing policies.
- Audit files to ensure compliance with Sec-8, LIHTC program guidelines
- Provide customer service to tenants as needed
- Provide support for leasing, marketing, and facilities departments in all areas of Affordable Housing Compliance
- Process Special Claims for all HUD Properties
- Identify and monitor the submission of AFHMP for all subsidized properties
- Review all TSP to ensure they are up to date and in compliance with current HUD rules and regulations
- Monitor vacancies and waiting lists of Section 8 properties to ensure timely filling of vacancies
- Review all transfer lists for compliance
- Conduct ongoing review and revision of House Rules, Pet Rules and all riders for compliance with Fair Housing and regulatory guidelines
- Assist with LIHTC audit preparation.
- This position requires travel to satellite offices within Staten Island, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn. Additional travel may go outside these sites to meet the needs of the Portfolio.
