Our client is searching for a Corporate Safety Manager looking to join their team.
Job Title: Corporate Safety Manager
Location: Chicago, IL
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain safety policies and systems per US OSHA, Canadian MOL, and ISO 45001:2018 standards.
- Organize and conduct safety training and drills, including WTG Working at Heights and Confined Space Rescue.
- Write and ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
- Build professional relationships across various teams.
- Manage safety databases and analyze trends for improvement.
- Design and supervise emergency action plans and drills.
- Teach safety classes (e.g., OSHA 10-hour, LOTO, electrical safety).
- Travel to sites for training, audits, and support.
- Administer ISO 45001 programs and support other ISO standards.
- Provide regulatory analysis and compliance advice.
- Represent the company with external organizations and regulatory bodies.
- Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Review reports for health and safety impacts and compliance.
- Assist in managing safety contractors and their work.
- Participate in industry organizations to shape regulations.
- Conduct site audits for compliance.
- Provide support and information to team members.
Requirements:
- Proficient in English writing and communication.
- Minimum 4 years in a safety-related role.
- Public speaking and training experience.
- Ability to work in harsh environments and perform rescues.
- Analytical and leadership skills.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and electrical safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight (25-50%).
- Eligible for a U.S. Passport and travel to Canada.
Desired:
- Advanced knowledge of Industrial Safety disciplines and related regulations.
- Experience in wind, solar, and BESS construction and maintenance.
- Experience with compliance audits and inspections.
