Job Summary
The Receptionist is a vital member of the ProHEALTH clinical office, responsible for ensuring excellent experiences to our patients. This position greets patients and guests, checks patients in, answers phones, and performs a variety of other administrative tasks to support the office needs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients and visitors with a smile and friendly tone.
- Checks patients in and out of the clinic.
- Verifies patient identity and insurance. Takes copayments in accordance with patients’ insurance plans.
- Schedules patient appointments and maintains the schedule as adjustments are required.
- Answers phones promptly and professionally. Transfers calls or takes messages appropriately.
- Displays complete understanding of patient check-in forms and clearly describes information to patients and visitors as needed.
- Generates referrals in accordance with provider directions and office guidelines.
- Queues prescriptions for physician approval.
- Calls patients to confirm future appointments.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in general computer use and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Minimum of 1-year customer service experience required. 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
