Now Hiring – Civil Construction Inspector
Sitka, AK
Are you a Sitka resident who has a background in civil construction or inspection? Do you desire the opportunity to become a key team member of a young, but growing firm? proHNS LLC is seeking a seasonal Civil Construction Inspector who will be responsible for ensuring all construction conforms to project plans and specifications. They will communicate regularly with the Contractor’s foreman to remain apprised of all construction activities and will be responsible for inspecting excavation and fill operations, the placement of forms for concrete, concrete mixing and pouring, asphalt paving, grading operations, utility removal/installation, and other activities. The Construction Inspector will also handle the measurement and tracking of pay item quantities, preparation of source documents, and maintenance of Inspector Daily Reports to reflect construction progress.
Keys to Success:
- Perform duties and responsibilities in accordance with proHNS policies & procedures.
- Coordinate with a team of engineers, inspectors, sub-consultants, and other representatives.
- Experience working or inspecting on airport, highway, bridge, and/or marine projects.
- At least three seasons of experience in construction, inspection, materials testing, construction surveying, or equivalent. In lieu of two seasons of experience, formal education in construction management, construction technologies or engineering may be considered.
Qualifications:
- AK-CESCL or equivalent erosion and sediment control certification/experience preferred.
- WAQTC or equivalent materials sampling and testing certification/experience, Nuclear density gauge certification and experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and good driving record.
Expectations:
- The typical work schedule is 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, seasonally. Employees are required to have a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, overtime when needed, and attending after-hour events such as local government public meetings.
- Ability to work seamlessly in a team setting.
- Willingness and ability to perform site visits and construction inspections in a variety of outdoor settings and climate conditions.
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation and Benefits:
Employees receive a competitive benefit package including access to our Medical Insurance plans with the employer paying 100% of the employee plan. The wage range for this position is $35-$50 per hour.
