POSITION SUMMARY:
We seek a strategic executive leader to provide vision and support for our national operations platform. This
pivotal role oversees and empowers the Programs, Technology, and Social Impact departments while fostering
cross-functional collaboration and removing obstacles to success. The ideal candidate will balance strategic
leadership with the ability to provide hands-on support when needed, ensuring operational excellence while driving
innovation across all functions. Beyond supporting department heads, this leader will be expected to contribute
their own executive-level strategic initiatives and drive organizational transformation. The position serves as a key
facilitator in enabling department heads to execute their strategies effectively while maintaining alignment with
organizational objectives.
STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP SCOPE:
- Strategic oversight of Programs, Technology, Social Impact, PA Connect, and National Call Line
- Leadership partnership with 2 Senior Directors of Programs, Director of Technology, and Director of Social
- Organizational support for 100 Resource Centers nationwide
- Budget oversight exceeding $12M annually
- Executive stakeholder relationship management
KEY STRATEGIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Leadership & Support
- Provide executive guidance and remove barriers for department heads
- Demonstrate willingness to be hands-on when directors need development or additional support
- Develop and execute own VP-level strategic initiatives focused on innovation and organizational
- Ensure directors achieve self-sufficiency through targeted coaching and development, recognizing varying
- Hold direct accountability for directors' success in meeting strategic goals and objectives
- Foster cross-departmental collaboration and alignment
- Support development of departmental strategies through coaching and resources
- Enable data-informed decision-making across departments
- Champion innovative solutions while respecting departmental expertise
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all functional areas
- Facilitate coordination between departments to optimize service delivery
- Support departments in resource allocation and operational planning
- Enable cross-functional learning and best practice sharing
- Guide organizational change management initiatives
- Ensure alignment between departmental and organizational goals
- Cultivate executive-level relationships with key partners and stakeholders
- Support department heads in strategic partnership development
- Serve as executive sponsor for major initiatives
- Represent organization at high-level industry events
- Foster positive relationships with property developers and managers
- Create an environment that empowers department heads to lead effectively
- Develop directors to achieve full self-sufficiency in their roles through customized coaching and support
- Support professional growth and development of leadership team
- Set and achieve ambitious VP-level goals for innovation and continuous improvement
- Foster culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Facilitate effective cross-departmental communication
- Guide conflict resolution when needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field required; Master's degree
- 10 years senior leadership experience
- Track record of successful executive-level team leadership
- Experience supporting diverse functional areas
- Background in strategic planning and execution
- Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities
- Change management expertise
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and coaching ability
- Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Collaborative leadership style
- Ability to build trust and empower others
- Travel: 30-40%
- Location: Orange, CA (Hybrid work arrangement)
- Availability for occasional evening/weekend events
- Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- This is a full-time, exempt position
- Annual compensation: $145,000 - $150,000
