Over the last year, project b. has built a team of seasoned founders with 50 years experience unf*cking industries, ranging from construction, media telecom, and benefits to embedded finance. Today our team has set its sights on improving the lives of every German that interacts with payroll.
Payroll hasn’t changed in 30 years. Gosh, the tools literally look like Windows 95.Â
Today, we are integrating process automation & LLMs into a robust data architecture that is fundamentally changing how companies interact with their employees and service providers. You may even get paid faster.
Now this may seem a bit outlandish, as everyone is doing this these days. Our team has collectively raised over 750 million from VCs in Germany and Silicon Valley. They have also built one of Europe’s biggest payroll products on the tech and product side.
THE POSITION
We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to join the founders & team in bringing project b. to the next level.Â
🤖 What you’ll be doing
- Working hand-in-hand with the founders on the most pressing agenda(s) of the company
- Focus on growth and operations initially. For example:
  - Building the GTM playbook (testing out growth channels, finding language market fit, etc.)
  - Driving adoption within existing customers
  - Growing our target audience on LinkedIn
- Have full ownership of your areas of responsibility, with support & coaching from the founders.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION
🤹 What you should bring
We’re not rigid about the stations you have previously gone through. Here are some requirements or signals we watch out for:Â
- German native or fluent speaker (you’ll be talking to customers in German), English fluent. This is a must-have.
- 2-6 years work experience
- Previous work in a fast pace work environment, e.g., high growth startup, consulting, investment banking
- Operational experience - whether through an internship or previous job, you know what it means to roll up your sleeves
- Based in/willing to move to Munich (preferred) OR Berlin-based willing to travel to Munich every now & again to spend time with the founders
✌️ What else?
- Ownership: You have a founder mentality, meaning: you run with it.
- Growth affinity: You enjoy talking to customers, crafting messages on how to talk to customers, … We’re not looking for a sales expert. Just someone with the knack to go for it.
- Hustler: Early stage startup can be a lot of hustling. You understand it takes some “focus on the inputs” before you can see the outcomes.
- Learner: You’re willing to learn about your customer and “the rules of the game”. Bye-bye best practices.
